Equifino is operated by me, Sandra Peters in Germany. I take your privacy seriously and aim to collect only the information I actually need to provide the Equifino services you choose to use.

I do not sell your personal information. At launch, Equifino does and will not use your Training Check-In information for marketing or add you to a marketing mailing list.

What information Equifino collects

The information Equifino receives depends on how you use the site.

If you complete the Equifino Assessment, I collect the information you provide in your answers, together with the contact information you submit, so that I can assess whether Equifino may be suitable for you and communicate the result to you.

If you submit a Training Check-In, I collect the information you provide about you, your horse and your training, together with the contact information needed to respond to you.

If you contact me by email, I receive your email address and whatever information you choose to include in your message.

The website and its hosting infrastructure may also process basic technical and request information where this is necessary to deliver, secure and maintain the service.

How I use your information

I use personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected, including:

• providing and operating the Assessment and Training Check-In;
• reviewing your submission and responding to you;
• sending service-related emails you have requested or that are necessary to complete the service;
• operating, securing and troubleshooting Equifino; and
• meeting legal obligations where applicable.

Training Check-In users are never automatically subscribed to marketing emails.

Legal basis for processing

I process your personal information where this is necessary to provide a service or take steps you have requested, where it is necessary for Equifino's legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the service, and where processing is required by law.

Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

Use of AI

Some Equifino services use artificial intelligence as part of their processing. Information is shared with AI providers only where required to provide the relevant Equifino function.

Service providers and international processing

Equifino uses specialist service providers to operate its website, application, database, email delivery and AI-assisted functions. These currently include providers such as IONOS, Render, Supabase, OpenAI and Resend.

Some processing may take place outside Germany or the European Economic Area. Where personal information is transferred internationally, Equifino relies on the applicable contractual or legal safeguards provided for such transfers.

I do not sell your personal information to any of these providers. They are used to provide the services and infrastructure Equifino needs to operate.

How long information is kept

Personal information is kept only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected or where retention is required by law.

For the Equifino Assessment, identifiable information is retained while your Assessment or your interest in joining Equifino remains active. If you are not a match, decide not to proceed, or do not respond to an invitation, your identifiable Assessment information is normally deleted within three weeks after that process ends.

For a Training Check-In, identifiable case information is normally retained for up to three months after the training response has been delivered. You can also ask me to delete your personal information at any time, subject to any legal requirements that may require me to retain it.

Training material may subsequently be retained in anonymised form for Equifino's internal training and methodology library. Before material is retained for this purpose, identifying information must and will be removed so that it can no longer reasonably be connected to you.

Information relating to your ongoing relationship with Equifino may be retained for as long as it is needed to provide that service.

Cookies and tracking

At launch, Equifino does not use advertising trackers or behavioural marketing technologies such as advertising pixels.

Technically necessary processing may still occur where required to operate, secure or authenticate the website and application.

Your rights

Of course, you have rights concerning your personal information, including the right to request access, correction or deletion, to restrict or object to certain processing, and where applicable to receive a copy of your information or withdraw consent.

You may contact me at any time if you have a question about your information, wish to exercise a privacy right, or would like me to delete information Equifino holds about you.

If the GDPR applies to you, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection supervisory authority.
